Bats!

We had a fun Friday in Room 2!  We began the day by collecting homework and having Nutrition. When we came back to the room we took care of our morning activities and read a Halloween story. At language arts rotations, students got to make a bat using colored construction paper and glue. They look pretty cool!  My groups wrote letters to Stella, our Star of the Week. The other groups had secret centers. We also had a few visitors that were taking a kindergarten tour. After recess, we worked on word sounds, recited "Diddle, Diddle, Dumpling" and had math. We worked on counting, reading, and writing 16 and 17.

After lunch,  we read "Pumpkin Town," which we all enjoyed, and practiced our "Five Little Pumpkins" song. Then we had art. We finished up our space creature pictures from yesterday by using watercolors to fill in the land and space areas. They look great!  For Star of the Week, Stella had us estimate beads. There were 95 beads. Jacob guessed it exactly!  At P.E., we used jump ropes and hula hoops. When we came back, we had a popcorn party!  We earned it for good listening and behavior for the week. We watched the end of "Sam and Mat" and ate a cup of popcorn. Then we packed up our Friday Folders, passed out certicficates for an all green week, and lined up for home.

Have a great weekend!  Don't forget that our Halloween party is next Friday, October 31st from 1:00-2:30 P.M.
