Applesauce!

We had a busy Friday in Room 2! We began our day by collecting homework packets and having Nutrition. We took care of our morning activities and read "Apples" next. At language arts rotations, students found the things that an apple tree needs to grow: sun, water, and soil. My groups made the riddle book "The Little Red House." The other groups had their first secret center. In between rotations, we also went to the auditorium and took a hearing test. After recess, we made applesauce! Students cut up apples into small pieces. Then we put them in an electric skillet. We added some butter and cinnamon and let it cook for twenty minutes during lunch.

After lunch, we read "Ten Apples on Top" and sang "I'm a Little Teapot." Then we had math. We counted numbers and compared them to five. When we were done, we ate our applesauce and colored our recipe. It was pretty good!  The recipe should be in your child's Friday Folder. We went out to the big yard for P.E. next. We worked on jumping rope and bouncing balls to a friend. When we got back, we had a popcorn party!  We watched the SRA series of "Sam and Mat" and ate a small cup of popcorn. Then we packed up our Friday Folders, passed out certificates for an all green week, and lined up for home. Enjoy your weekend!

Don't forget to finish up "All About Me" book projects! They're due on Tuesday, October 7th.
