The Th Digraph

It was a beautiful Monday in Room 203. The weather has finally turned for the better, and we really enjoyed it today! We started our morning celebrating Sa'Daree's birthday, which was yesterday. We also had Reader's Workshop, and worked on the "th" digraph. We read "The Thing That Went Thump," brainstormed some "th" words and used crayons, glue, and thread to make the tactile page "Thread on 'Th' on a Thumb." We also wrote about kinds of insects in our kindergarten journals. After Road to Reading, we had snack and recess. We ended the morning by learning our new sight words (help, sleep, him, no, of), reciting our new poem ("Bedtime"), reading "The Eensy Weensy Spider," and working on HWT.

After lunch, we had math. We worked more with adding and subtracting, plus looking at the number 0. After some Workshop, we looked for hidden insects in a picture and colored them with markers. We also introduced Reid as our Star of the Week. He shared his cool poster and took questions from the class. We ended the day with Spanish and P.E.  Then we packed up, reviewed homework, let Sa'Daree pass out her goody bags, and lined up for home.

Oh, we also got some caterpillars on Friday. We will be observing them and updating their progress as they grow and change. It should be a fun activity!

Let's make it a great week!
