Seeds and Rain

It was a rainy Tuesday in Room 203. After celebrating Paul's birthday, we read "Wake Up, It's Spring!" and spent our morning writing stories with our reading buddies and reading non-fiction books with a partner during Reader's Workshop. After a misty snack and recess, we reviewed our sight words, recited "Yankee Doodle," read "Mouse's First Spring," and wrote about our Spring Break in our kindergarten journals.

After lunch, we visited the library. We listened to a story and checked out books with Mr. Withers and Mrs. Frost. When we got back to Room 203, we talked about seeds. We finished our art project from yesterday that has a hidden flower that emerges from a seed.  We also started another seed project by gluing five seeds to a piece of construction paper. For Star of the Week, Nora shared some toys. She bought in a wand, a whiteboard, a book, and American Girl doll, a car, and a harmonica. The class liked them all!  We ended the day with Music and Spanish. Then we packed up for home. Stay dry!
