The Parts of a Plant

We had a nice Tuesday in Room 203. We spent our morning reading (in Reader's Workshop, with our Reading Buddies in their room for the first time, and at Road to Reading). We also reviewed the "ch" digraph, brainstormed some "ch" words, and practiced some "ch" phonics. After snack and recess, we reviewed our sight words, recited "Wee Willie Winkie," read "The Tiny Seed," and practiced handwriting in our HWT workbooks.

After lunch, we visited the library. We listened to a story with Mr. Withers and then checked out books with Mrs. Frost. When we returned to Room 203, we talked about the parts of a plant. We looked at a book on flowers before labeling the parts of a plant: roots, stem, leaf, and petal. Paul was absent, so we didn't have Star of the Week. We ended the day in Music and Spanish. Then we reviewed homework, packed up, and lined up for home.
