The Shape of Me

We had a busy Friday in Room 203. We spent our morning catching up with Owen, our Star of the Week. Then we wrote him a friendly letter. In Reader's Workshop, we looked more at poetry. We tried to read poems, think about them, and then read them with feeling using our voices to keep the beat. After snack and recess, we read 95 sight words, recited "This Little Piggy," read The Little Tree," and practiced some handwriting in our HWT workbooks.

After lunch, we read "Being Me" and had Art. We used geometric and free form shapes to make "The Shape of Me. We only used pencil to sketch out our face and body shape. We will color them in next week. Mr. Wither and Mrs. Frost gave us a chance to visit the library on Friday afternoon. They have been testing in the library all week, including at our regular time. Fortunately, we got to do a quick check out of books before returning to read our Star of the Week letters to Owen. We ended the day in P.E. and Music. Then we packed up, passed out prizes for twenty super star sticks, and lined up for home.

Have a great weekend!
