More With Y and Beye Olympic Teams

We had a quick Wednesday in Room 203. The snow on the ground made for an interesting start to the morning. We ended up reading "The Yak Who Yelled Yuck," brainstormed "Y" words, and practiced "Y" phonics.  We continued to look at non-fiction books in Reader's Workshop, trying to find things that were the same and different. The snow started to melt at snack and recess, which was followed by Spanish. We learned more about Puerto Rico and the rain forest.

After lunch, we had Star of the Week. Nora read us "The Great Puppy Invasion" all by herself!  Way to go Nora! In math, we found ways to make ten and then made number bonds with numbers to ten. Instead of Second Step, we ended the day by meeting with our Beye Olympic Teams. We learned some facts about our  team's country and more about our teammates. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.
