Earth Day Assembly

We had an Earthy Friday in Room 203. We started the day with an Earth Day assembly in the auditorium. Students learned about ways to help save and take care of the Earth, including reducing our waste and  recycling the things we use. When we returned to the room, we had Star of the Week. Paul told a silly joke before we wrote a friendly letter to him. After Road to Reading, we had snack and recess. We ended our morning by reading all of our 100 sight words, reciting "Wee Willie Winkie," reading "The Earth and I," and finishing our giant flower pictures from yesterday by labeling the parts of a plant.

After lunch, we read "Recycle Everyday!" and had art. We looked at "The Shape of My Family." We used pencil to draw a picture of our family and then used markers to trace and color. They look cool!  We ended the day by going to P.E. and Music. Then we packed up and handed out biodegradable straws from the Beye PTO Green Team as a reminder to use less straws or biodegradable straws instead of plastic.

Have a great weekend!
