The Letter C and Tech Lab

We had a fun and quick Tuesday back in Room 2. We began the day by collecting Friday Folders and having Nutrition outside. Then we took care of our morning activities: Updating the calendar, singing the alphabet song, reciting our new poem, the pledge, and doing our warm up exercises.  We read "My 'C' Book" and brainstormed some words that begin with "C." At language arts rotations, students used crayons, glue, and cotton balls to make the tactile page "Cotton on 'C's on a Cloud." My groups read "At School" and worked on "C" handwriting and words. The other groups had their last secret center of this rotation. After recess, we went to the Tech Lab for the first time. We met Miss Castro, who introduced herself to students, went over the Tech Lab rules, and showed students how to use their computers. We also played three games designed to help students improve their mouse skills: Pick a Bunch of Flowers, Take a Trip, and Feed the Monster. All are available through the site www.planetbravo.com/thirdstreet/. When we got back to Room 2 we spent a few minutes learning our new poem "Hickory, Dickory Dock" and sharing things we did over the long four day weekend.

After lunch, we read three shape books: "What is Square?," "What is Triangle?," and "What is Round?" Then we worked on a shape match activity. We ended the day with recess on the kindergarten yard. Then we passed out homework folders  and lined up for home. Let's have a great week!

Be sure to check over homework for the week. We have one less day to work, so please try to plan ahead to finish on time. Also, two book orders are attached. If you're interested, you may return the slips with payment by Friday OR order online using our class code. See me if you have any questions. Let
