Some Rain... and the Letter D

We had a wet Tuesday back in Room 2. There was rain to start our day, so we had Nutrition inside to stay dry. We also collected Friday Folders and took care of our morning activities. Then we read "My 'D' Book" and brainstormed some "D" words. At language arts rotations, students used crayons and dot stampers to make the tactile page "Dots on 'D's on a Duck." My groups took the Chapter 1 math test and worked on good "D" handwriting.  The other groups had secret centers.  After some indoor recess, we went to the Tech Lab. Ms. Castro taught us how to play some mouse clicking games, including "Make a Face," "Make a Pizza," and "Ladybugs." You can access all the games at planetbravo.com/thirdstreet/ and by clicking on kindergarten.  When we got back to the room, we had a few minutes before lunch, so we recited our new poem "Hey Diddle Diddle" and did some word rhyming. We did a nice job!

After lunch, we had math. We worked on counting, writing, and building the number 8. We also had a little choose time when we finished. To end the day, we celebrated Kaia's birthday. The class each got a big cookie and got to play on the yard after singing "Happy Birthday." Then we packed up, passed out homework folders, played a game of "Mr. Ricker Says," and lined up for home. Let's have a great week!

Be sure to look over homework for the week. We have a short week, so please budget your time as needed. Also, be sure to fill out the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and return it with your child's  homework on Friday.
