Tech Lab and Reading Buddies

We had a short day in Room 2. We began our Tuesday with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read "The Yak Who Yelled Yuck" and came up with more "Y" words. At language arts rotations, students worked on "y" phonics and sentences. My groups took the Topic 10 math test and talked about some of the different bones in our body. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we went to the Tech Lab. Mr. Scott had us play some more games related to keyboarding. They included Key Bricks and Spellerz. You can access them all at PlanetBravo.com/thirdstreet. When we got back to the room we reviewed our sight words, recited "Yankee Doodle," and read "In My Yard."

After lunch, we edited two sentences and read "Tooth Trouble." We also learned a little more about teeth. We found out that the top of the tooth is called the crown and the part that is below the gumline is called the root. Students made a dot to dot tooth to finish the lesson. For Star of the Week, we reviewed what we know about Chloe. Then Chloe shared some cool toys. She brought in an American Girl doll, some bouncy balls that she made, and her soft kitty named Bella.  To end the day, we had Reading Buddies. We looked at books with Mr. Bassett's fourth and fifth graders from Room 19. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home!
