St. Patrick's Day

We had a fun St. Patrick's Day in Room 2. We began our Tuesday with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read "It's St. Patrick's Day!" together. At language arts rotations, students worked on "ch" phonics and sentences. My groups made St. Patrick's Day cartoons. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we went to the Tech Lab. Mr. Scott had the class use Microsoft Word to practice typing letters of the alphabet, and then words that begin with each letter.  When we got back to Room 2, we practiced our sight words, recited "Wee Willie Winkie," and read "Looking for Leprechauns."

After lunch, we shared Katharine's book and had math. We had a special addition page that had a leprechaun and clovers on it. For Star of the Week, Boyd shared some cool toys. He brought in a wooden king cobra from India and a chess set. To end the day, we had Reading Buddies with Room 19. We finished up our stories from last week and illustrated them. Then we put up our chairs, packed up, and lined up for home. Ethan and his mom were also kind enough to give everyone a special St. Patrick's Day gift on our way out. Thank you!
