Seed Art

We has a very pleasant Tuesday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning business. Then we read the book "Spring Changes." At language arts rotations, students worked on "sh"phonics and sentences. My groups wrote final drafts of our Open House writing. The other groups had their final secret center of this rotation. After recess, we went to the Tech Lab. Mr. Scott had the class use Microsoft Word and tools to write, highlight, and color words. When we got back, we practiced our sight words, recited "Come to the Window," and shared Stella's Science Fair project.

After lunch, we read "Mouse's First Spring" and finished the seed art project that we started yesterday. The glue and seeds had dried, so we drew roots going down from the seed and stems rising up. Students also made colorful flowers and other nature in the background. We finished by painting the soil with brown watercolors. They look neat!  Mr. Bassett had to cancel Reading Buddies, so we had some choose time after finishing art and shared books. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home!
