Science Fair and Open House

We had a busy Thursday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition, our morning business, and by reading "Splish, Splosh Spring." At language arts rotations, students wrote a friendly letter to Baeman. We thought he would like to hear from us at his new home!  My groups wrote what happened in "the Tiny Seed." The other groups started new secret centers. They include: Free draw with oil pastels and watercolors at the Art Center, educational games at the Computer Center, Addition practice at the Math Center, Magni-Tiles, Lincoln Logs, and blocks at the Play Center, and Plant sentences at the Writing Center. After recess, we recited "Come to the Window," and had math. We reviewed Topic 12 on Measurement and introduced Topic 13.

After lunch, we went to the Science Fair. Students got a chance to see some of the great projects done at our school. When we got back, we discussed the parts of a plant. Then we labeled plant pictures and decorated them. After some choose time, we had Sophia and Chloe share their Science Fair projects. For P.E., we used bouncy balls and hula hoops on the kindergarten yard. Then A.J. got a chance to share his project. To end the day, we cleaned up the room for Open House. Then we packed up and lined up for home.

Don't forget to finish and check over homework for tomorrow! Also, remember that Friday is a 12:35 P.M. minimum day!

From 5:30-6:30 tonight, we had our annual Open House. Parents and students were invited to visit Room 2 and see all that we've done this year in Kindergarten. I hope that everyone had a good time. Thank you for joining us!
