Animal Report and Diorama Projects

We had a great day sharing our Animal Report and Diorama projects in Room 2. We began our Tuesday looking at the new projects and our butterflies. Once we got settled and took care of morning business, we read "Little Quack." At language arts rotations, students worked on an "st or sk" phonics page. My groups read "Rosie's Walk" and made a memory game. The other groups had secret centers. After snack and recess, we went to the Tech Lab. This was our first visit in awhile because of upper grade testing, so we were happy to be there. Mr. Riko had students create symmetric pictures at abcya.com. When we got back to class, we recited "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and shared Finn's (Cheetah) project.

After lunch, we continued sharing more animal report and diorama projects. Ethan (tiger shark), Aiden (African Elephant), Steve (Cheetah),  and Iris (Wild Mustang Horse) went first. Then we took a break and played our "Rosie's Walk" memory games with a partner. When we came back to the carpet, Warner (White Tiger), Yetunde (Zebra), Lily (Brown Hare), and Ryker (Cheetah) shared their projects. Next we went out to the kindergarten yard for P.E. Afterwards, our Reading Buddies from Room 19 stopped by. We shared our reports and read books with them. To end the day, we brought our four butterflies outside and let them go free. One rested in the grass for a bit, two took off into the sky, and one waited awhile on Lily before it flew away. I think the class really enjoyed having them in our room this week!  Then we packed up our things and lined up for home.

Feel free to stop by and check out our fantastic projects! They'll be on display until the end of the year.
