Music with Miss Ingram!

We had a new and fun day today in Room 2!  We began with calendar and our morning business. I read two stories, "Leaves" and "J is for Jaguar." During language arts rotations, students did a "J" cut and paste phonics and wrote "J" words and sentences on the back. My groups wrote sentences about leaves in their journal, while others had secret centers. After snack and lunch, we recited the poem "Diddle, Diddle, Dumpling" and had math. We worked on reading, writing, and counting 16 and 17.

The afternoon was a blur. We read "Fall, Leaves, Fall" after lunch and then looked at some of the leaves we've brought in with magnifying glasses. Students tried to find the stem, midrib, blade, and veins in the leaf. It was fun! To finish, we drew one of the leaves we looked at.  When we were done, Abbie read "The Disney Princesses: What Is a Princess?"to the class. She did a great job!  We got our nametags and headed to room 32 for Music. Our music teacher is Miss Ingram. She started the class by having students march to the beat of a drum around the carpet. She'd stop, and then they'd stop. They sang some songs together, played a game that included singing, and ended with a freeze dance with Miss Ingram playing the piano. They class is looking forward to next week, for sure. From there, we went to P.E. with Coach Angel. He had the class play hockey with (soft) gator balls. Then we went to the library with Mr. K. He (and Ms. Keyanna) read "Doobie, Doobie Moo." When we finally got back to the room, we packed up, practiced our Halloween song, and lined up for home. What a day!
