It's October!

Today was the first day of October. We began the day by coming in and finding our new carpet squares. We also learned how to count to three in Spanish (uno, dos, tres) during calendar and our morning business. After reviewing the letter "g" and reading the story "Gorilla, Be Good," we started our  language arts rotations. Students did a cut and paste "G" page and wrote "g" words on the back. In small groups, we also read "I Can, We Can,"worked on "G" handwriting, and had secret centers. After snack and recess, we went to the Tech Lab. Mr. Riko had us play multiple games at cwksmarts.com. Games focused on typing, letter recognition, and matching. And they were fun!

Later, we practiced "Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary" and did some rhyming practice. We read "Ten Apples Up on Top," as well.  In math, we worked on comparing numbers to ten. We continue to stress the words, more, less, greater, and fewer in class. To end the day, our Reading Buddies from Room 19 stopped by. We looked at book with a fourth grade buddy from Mr. Bassett's class until the end of the day. See you tomorrow!
