More with J and Tech Lab

A nice, quick Tuesday in Room 2 today!  We started with our regular morning business. Then we read "Jaguar's Jungleberry Jamboree" and brainstormed "J" words. When we split into groups for language arts rotations, students completed a "j" phonics page and wrote "J" words and sentences. My groups took the math topic 4 test and worked on "j" handwriting. Other groups had secret centers. After snack and recess, we went to the Tech Lab. Mr. Riko had us work on our keyboarding at abcya.com. There's a game called "Cup Stacking" where students type in letters on the keyboard to advance. They did well!  We came back and practiced "Diddle, Diddle, Dumpling" and did some rhyming before lunch.

In the afternoon, we read "The Runaway Pumpkin" and had math. We worked on reading, writing, and counting 13, 14, and 15. For Star of the Week, Abbie shared some toys. The class especially liked her soft dog and Batman. We were supposed to have Reading Buddies, but Mr. Bassett had to cancel, so we went out and had P.E. on the big yard. When we got back, we packed up and headed home!
