Happy Halloween!

A fun and happy Halloween day in Room 2 today!  We got started right away by reading two books this morning: Dr. Seuss' "I Can Read with my Eyes Shut" for Aiden and "Ghostorama" for Halloween. We also introduced our new secret centers. During language arts rotations, students used oil pastels to create a Halloween picture on black paper. At my table, we wrote letters to Aiden, our Star of the Week. After snack and recess, we rehearsed our song and had Halloween math. We found missing numbers in a row. Then we colored them orange (or red) if they were odd and green if they were even.

After lunch, we had Star of the Week. Aiden shared a wonderful picture book with the class. Then we watched the movie "In the Haunted House," a Magic School bus video about sound. When we ere done, we decided to have a few minutes of recess before the Halloween party. Then all our parents arrived, we got changed, and performed our "Five Little Pumpkins" song. I thought we did great!  Our party after was filled with games, prizes, treats, and lots of food.  It was very nice to see so many parents participate.  Thank you!  Have a very happy Halloween!

Oh, don't forget to finish up homework packets (and homework for parents) tonight. See you tomorrow!
