More with K and Tech Lab

A brisk day outside and a brisk day of learning today in Room 2.  We started with our usual morning business. Then we read "Kangaroo Kazoo" and brainstormed "K" words. At language arts rotations, we worked on "K" phonics and writing sentences with "K" words. At my table, we took the math Topic 5 test and practiced "K" handwriting. Other groups did their last secret center. After snack and recess, we Tech Lab. Mr. Riko had us go to abcya.com and try a 1-40 Connect the Dots game, along with "Marble Math."  When we returned, we rehearsed out "Five Little Pumpkins" song. We sang it with music and put the five little pumpkins we have in front of us on the carpet while we performed. We also recited "Georgie Porgie."

After lunch, we had math. We counted to 30 and then worked on building and writing numbers 1-30 with a partner.  When we were done, Aiden shared his toys for Star of the Week. The class liked his trucks, jet, Batman helicopter, Minion (from Despicable Me), and Toy Story toys. We were a little late for Reading Buddies, but fortunately, they didn't mind. We met the fourth graders from Room 19 on the yard and had "Play Buddies" instead. It was a little windy, but it was still nice to end the day outside!
