We're Back!

It was a great day back in Room 203. We started 2018 with a nice beginning, recalling our morning routine and working on "Magic C" letters (COQG) in our handwriting books. After our morning meeting and updating our calendar, we got into small group rotations. My groups started a New Year's resolutions project, Workshop groups played LexiaCore5 games, and independent groups used crayons, glue, and noodles to make  the tactile page "Noodles on 'N's on a Nut." We also reviewed the letter and sounds of the alphabet, practiced some phonics skills, and read "My 'N' Book" and brainstormed some words that begin with the letter "N." After snack and recess, we wrote in our kindergarten journals about Winter Break. We wrote sentences about people we saw, places we went, and things we got. We also got to share with the class!

After lunch, we learned our new sight words (go, ball, brown, play, I) recited our new poem ( 'Little Nut Tree"), and read "The Kissing Hand." In math, we practiced some counting exercises, played a dice game, and worked a little on measurement by counting cubes. We also read a Time for Kids on New Year's celebrations around the world. We ended the day visiting Spanish and P.E. Then we packed up homework folders and gave out certificates for an all-green month.

Be sure to look over homework packets, as they have returned with the new year. Let's make it a great week!
