The Letter P

We had a quick Monday back in Room 203. We started the day by adding a page of 10 stamps to our 100 Day Books. We looked at patterns and read with a partner in Reader's Workshop. Then read "My 'P' Book" and brainstormed "P" words. We also used crayons, glue, and popcorn to make the tactile page "Popcorn on 'P's on a Pumpkin." We also reviewed the alphabet and some sight words and phonics skills before our new Road to Reading rotations. After snack and recess, we worked on adding more detailed writing our stories in Writer's Workshop.

After lunch, we had math. We talked about volume and capacity. We found which containers would hold more, and which would hold less. After some workshop time, we looked at an issue of Time for Kids on money. We ended the day with Spanish and P.E. We learned about frutas with Sra. Colmenero in Spanish and played a fun game with a big ball in P.E. with Mr. Simatic. Then we packed up our things, reviewed homework, and lined up for home. Let's have a great week!

Be sure to look over homework packets for the week. They include "Homework for Parents Part 2" and a 100 Day shirt project.  Also, remember that we do not have school on Friday, so homework packets are due on Thursday this week!
