Reading!

We had a full day of books and reading on Tuesday in Room 203. We spent our morning adding 10 macaroni to our 100 Day Books. We also read the story "If You Were a Penguin" together before we had Reading Buddies with Mrs. Fogg's fifth grade class. I read with students and a small group today during Reader's Workshop, too. After Road to Reading, we had snack and recess. When we came back, we read "Q is for Quail" and worked on "Q" and mixed phonics.

After lunch, we visited the library. Mr. Withers read us a story and we checked out new books for the week. Then we had math. We compared sets informally, using more than and less than. We did this by finding, coloring, and counting like shapes. Then we compared shapes to see which had more or less. For Star of the Week, we reviewed what we know about Emma. She also shared some cool toys. Emma brought in a game called Outfoxed, some clay figures she made, a stuffed animal horse, a toy unicorn, and a unicorn picture she decorated. The class liked them all!  We ended the day in Music and Spanish. We got to play instruments with Mrs. Karia in Music and learned about different foods in Spanish with Sra. Colmenero. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.
