Measuring Weight and Hallway Safety

It was a busy Wednesday in Room 203. We started our morning practicing handwriting in our HWT books. After calendar and our morning meeting, we got into small group rotations. My groups wrote down three New Year's resolutions, independent groups worked on "N" phonics, and Workshop groups played LexiaCore5 games on iPads. We also read "The Nicest Newt," brainstormed words that begin with "N," and reviewed some reading and phonics skills. After snack and recess, we ended our morning in Spanish.

After lunch, we had math. We learned about measuring weight. We used our eyes to estimate and figure out what objects are heavier or lighter. Then we used a scale with a partner to measure different items to see which was heavier, lighter, or equal in weight. We ended the morning with Second Step. We watched some videos about hallways safety and practiced good hallway behaviors. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.
