Balancing Scales

We had a busy Wednesday in Room 203. We spent our morning working on handwriting and rehearsing for the Pot Luck Breakfast tomorrow. We also looked at patterns when we read in Reader's Workshop and worked with the letter "O." After indoor snack and recess, we had Spanish with Sra. Colmenero., We learned about "frutas."

After lunch, we had math. We worked on comparing weight, and then trying to find the weight of objects using a set weight. We used pennies to see how much some of our school supplies weighed using our balancing scale. It was a little tricky getting them perfectly balanced, but we got there!  For Second Step, we learned how to calm down. We now know to stop, name our feeling, and find a way to calm down (count, breathe, use self talk). we also practiced belly breathing. After packing up and before we left, we had Star of the Week. Bennett shared the rest of this toys. He brought his LEGO book, Ducky the duck, his new Bears cap, and some Transformers. The class liked them all!  Bennett also read his favorite book, "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!"

Remember that our Pot Luck Breakfast is tomorrow morning at 8:15. We hope to see you there!
