Class T-Shirts and the Pot Luck Breakfast!

We had a fun Thursday in Room 203. We started our day by unpacking and seeing our new class t-shirts!  We get to keep them and should wear them on our class field trips for the rest of the year. I think that they turned out fantastic! Then we went to the Beye Commons for our Pot Luck Breakfast. We performed three songs: "I'm a Little Snowman," The Penguin Dance," and "Tony Chestnut." All of the kindergarten classes did great! Then we got to eat breakfast and enjoy our time together. Thank you to all of you that were able to attend!  When we finished, we returned to Room 203, read "O is for Owl" and "Todd's Odd Day" before having Reader's Workshop and working on "Short O"phonics. After recess, we finished up our work, reviewed sight words, recited "Old Woman in a Shoe," and read "The Bug Box."

After lunch, we had math. We reviewed numbers and counting. Then we looked at conservation of weight-where the same objects weigh the same, even if you break it up into pieces or change its shape. Next, we decorated the 100 Day books we will be making over the next ten days before having Star of the Week. Bennett shared some nice family pictures before we went to Art. In Art, Ms. Sundquist had us do part one of a snowman collage. We will finish them next week. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.

Be sure to finish and check over homework packets for Friday! Also, if you're interested in ordering books, return forms with payment by tomorrow. Thanks!
