Wrapping Up Gifts

We had a good Thursday in Room 203. We started the day by practicing "Q" handwriting in our HWT books. We read "The Cajun Cornbread Boy" together, too. In small group rotations, my groups made patterned candy cane ornaments. Independent groups made superhero badges and tried a holiday dot-to-dot, and workshop groups played LexiaCore5 games on the iPad. For Reader's Workshop, we finished our unit by celebrating our reading. We wore our super hero badges, reviewed our new superpowers, and then read books as teachers leading small groups. It was kind of amazing! Be sure to continue using this new gift of reading each day over Winter Break!

After lunch, we recited "I'm a Little Snowman," read "Senorita Gordita," and finished making holiday cards. Then we wrapped up our gifts for home. We hope you enjoy them! We also shared two more family holiday tradition projects and practiced our holiday songs. We ended the day in Art. Mrs. Sundquist had the class finish up their surreal paintings. Then we packed up and lined up for home.

Be sure to bring in green folders and take-home books for tomorrow. We have the Beye Health Fair in the morning and our class party in the afternoon.
