Hanukkah Menorahs

We had a pleasant Friday in Room 203. We started our day practicing "Z"s in our HWT workbook. For Star of the Week, Ben S. shared three silly jokes. The class liked them a lot. Then we wrote a friendly letter to Ben S. In Reader's Workshop, we used our voices to read more effectively. We also tried some echo reading with a partner. After snack and recess, we finished some true stories in Writer's Workshop. We are really improving!

After lunch, we recited "I'm a Little Snowman" and sang our holiday songs with music. We also talked about different winter holidays. We read "Eight Days of Hanukkah" and made a menorah. We colored it in using patterns and then attached colorful pieces with glue. We hope to cut them out on Monday. We also shared some of the Family Winter Tradition projects brought in today. Students read and shared with the class. Nice job!  We look forward to some more projects next week!  Next we went to P.E. and Music. We went through and obstacle course with Mr. Simatic in P.E. We played instruments and sang with Mrs. Karia. Then we packed up Friday Folders, read our letters to Ben S., gave out prizes for twenty super star sticks, and lined up for home.

Have a great weekend! If you didn't finish "My Family Holiday Tradition," please try and finish it this weekend. Thanks!
