Poinsettias

We had a busy Monday back in Room 203. We started our morning practicing good handwriting form in our HWT workbooks. Then we read "Morris' Disappearing Bag" and talked about poinsettias. We got into small groups, with two groups making a poinsettia, one group playing LexiaCore5 games on an iPad, and one group decorating ornaments with me. Then we rotated. We will try this routine for the rest of the week to help finish some projects. For Reader's Workshop, we read "The Gingerbread Man" and reviewed our reading skills. After snack and recess, we wrote in our kindergarten journals. We used the prompt "I play___" to make sentences describing games, instruments, or sports we play.

After lunch, we recited "I'm a Little Snowman," read "Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?" and had math. We worked on measuring longer and shorter. Some of us are still having a little trouble, so please review this concept at home. Next we cut out our menorahs from Friday and shared some Family Holiday Tradition projects. We ended the day in Spanish and P.E. Then we packed up green folders and lined up for home.

Be sure to look at homework folders. Most students don't have any  written homework, but a few still need to bring in their Family Holiday Traditions. Please finish and return in the next day or two. Otherwise, you just need to be sure to read every night. Lets have a great week!
