Computer Lab

We had a busy Thursday in Room 203. We started our morning practicing making "Y"s in our HWT workbook. For Reader's Workshop, we were "punctuation police," keeping an eye out for punctuation marks in our reading. We also reviewed our alphabet, letter sounds, rhyming, and tried sounding out short words together. We're getting there!  Next we went to the Computer Lab. We played some LexiaCore5 games to support our literacy. Remember that you can play at home, too!  After snack and recess, we had Writer's Workshop. We continued our stories and used a checklist as we finished. We will share these stories with each other tomorrow.

After lunch, we had math. We worked on comparing unifix cube lengths. We tried using sentence starters like "My 5-stick is longer than your 2-stick" and "My 4-stick is shorter than your 8-stick." It was a bit challenging. But we kept at it, counting, identifying the longer and shorter line or group. We will continue this topic tomorrow. For Star of the Week, Ben S. shared some nice family photographs. Next we got our smocks and went to Art. Ms. Sundquist had the class make a surreal picture. Then we packed up, reviewed homework,  and lined up for home.

Be sure to finish Family Holiday Tradition projects for tomorrow! If you need the weekend to make it look better or practice reading it, that's fine- just send me a note. I'd prefer having the best work possible and would like to be able to share them all next week in class.
