Leprechauns

We had a silly and snowy Tuesday in Room 203. The day began with quite  bit of snow, so we were a little late taking care of our morning activities. We read "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" and then started coloring our own "Leprechaun, Leprechaun, What Do You See?" mini-book. After Road to Reading, we shared some Leprechaun Traps. Ellie, Addison, and Miles all shared their clever traps. Be sure to bring them in by Friday!  After indoor snack and recess, we read "Looking for Leprechauns" and had ELA Workshop. My groups wrote words inside speech bubbles for a leprechaun cartoon. Independently, students decorated and made a movable leprechaun. We also visited the last secret center of this rotation.

After lunch, we reviewed sight words and shared our leprechaun cartoons. They were funny!  In the library, we read a story and checked out a book with Mrs. Frost and Mrs. Alexander. In Spanish, we worked on making "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" books with all the foods it ate. In P.E., we started a new cardiovascular unit by playing "Cardio-Tag." When we got back to the room, we had Star of the Week. We reviewed what we know about Gavin and he shared his cool toys. The class liked them all!  Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home. Stay warm!
