Happy Birthday Moon!

We had a productive Wednesday in Room 203. We began the day with our morning activities. Instead of HWT, we cut our a bear shape for a project tomorrow. We also read "Lucky Duck" and brainstormed more "Short U" words. After Road to Reading, we switched things up and had math. We took the Module 3 test as a whole group. It went alright! After snack and recess, we read "Happy Birthday Moon!" and had ELA Workshop. My groups made a picture of the story using Bear, the moon, and a hat. Independently, students worked on matching "short u" words and pictures. We also visited a secret center.

After lunch, we reviewed sight words and recited "Little Boy Blue." We also reread "Happy Birthday Moon!" and wrote sentences telling what happened. We are really improving! For Star of the Week, Gabriel shared a favorite book: "Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons." The class liked it a lot. To end the day, we had Second Step. We talked about solving problems with Ms. J.C. and Mrs. Z. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, read another Bear book, and lined up for home.
