Sewing Pumpkins

We had a great Friday in Room 203. We began the day by collecting homework and taking care of our morning activities. Then we started our pumpkin project by cutting and hole punching a pumpkin shape. After Road to Reading, we read "Pumpkin Day, Pumpkin Night" and "Pumpkin Faces" to learn more about pumpkins and get some project ideas. We tied yarn to the pumpkin and sewed around the outside. We did a nice job for a first try! After sewing, we tried to tie a knot and then decorated our pumpkin with a fun or scary face. They look cool! We had a little time to pack up Friday Folders and have snack before we went to Spanish and P.E. In Spanish, we had a substitute and watched a movie on Guatemala. In P.E., we were with Mrs. Sigunick's class. Mr. S had everyone play Super Pac-Man Tag and a game of class vs. class "Don't Knock Me Down. To end our short day, we packed up, passed out awards for Lexia and twenty super star sticks, and then lined up for home. Have a great weekend!

We will finish up P/T Conferences this afternoon. I hope that have been productive for everyone thus far. If I haven't met with you yet, I'll see you at your scheduled time today. Thanks!

Looking ahead, remember that we have a field trip next Wednesday.
