More With the Letter D

We had a fast Tuesday in Room 203. We began the day by collecting library books and permission slips for our field trip on Thursday. We also sorted lunches and took care of our morning activities. For HWT, we reviewed "frog-hop" capitals. After Road to Reading, we had Writer's Workshop. We focused on being problem solvers when writing. We discussed where materials are stored and how to stay on task and focus on our writing. Then we got our writing folders and started a new story or added to an unfinished one. After snack and recess, we had ELA Workshop. We read "Detective Dog and the Disappearing Doughnuts" and brainstormed more "D" words. Students identified "D" words while I pulled students for some "D" handwriting practice.

After lunch, things went quickly. We recited "Hey, Diddle, Diddle" and practiced our phonics skills. In the library, Mr. Withers read su a story and let students check out a new book. In Spanish, Sra. Colmenero reviewed birthdays. In P.E., Mr. Simatic had the class play a fun game of Virus Tag. When we got back to the room, we read a book on firefighters for Fire Saftety Month. Then we started coloring a mini-book on firefighters. After we packed up, we reviewed homework, packed up, and lined up for home.

Please return field trip slips tomorrow, if you haven't already. Thanks!
