Pumpkin Guy and Pumpkin Girl

We had a busy Friday in Room 203. We began the day by collecting homework and taking care of our morning activities. During morning announcements, two of our students had a winning Paw Pass: Marin and Yahkid. Congratulations! After HWT and Road to Reading, we had Writer's Workshop. We learned about adding pages to our writing. We picked one story and tried to add another idea and page to it. Afer a quick snack, we went to Spanish and P.E. We learned about community in Spanish with Sra. Colmenere and had an obstacle course in P.E. with Mr. Simatic. When we got back to our room, we continued work on our Pumpkin Guy and Pumpkin Girl projects by coloring and cutting out our pieces.

After lunch, we recited "Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater" and had math. We worked on counting and writing numbers to 5 and decomposing groups of 4 and 5. We also learned how to play some dice games with a friend. Since we didn't get a morning recess, we had an afternoon recess. We had a class music session where we sang three songs, including "Five Little Pumpkins." We ended the day by folding, gluing, and putting together our Pumpkin Guy or Pumpkin Girl. We were a little rushed, so when we were done, we packed up Friday Folders and got ready for home. We will award prizes for twenty Super Star Sticks on Monday since we ran out of time.

Be sure to return field trip slips and $ next week, if you haven't already. Note that we have shortened days (8:00-11:00 A.M.) on Thursday and Friday for Parent/Teacher Conferences, too. Have a great weekend!
