More With "Short E"

We had a good Thursday in Room 203. We began the day with our morning activities and HWT. We don't have Road to Reading on Thursdays, so we went to the Computer Lab. Unfortunately, the computers were not connecting to the internet, so we had to come back. We used that time to share more "All About Me" projects and work in our Fire Safety books. After snack and recess, we read "E is for Elephant" and had ELA Workshop. Students tried matching "short e" words and pictures by sounding them out with a friend. I pulled students to write in our kindergarten journals where we wrote "I can..." sentences.

After lunch, we recited "Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater" and shared more "All About Me" books. In Music, Mrs. Hanson had the class look at another part of the opera that will be coming to our school this fall. We shared our last two "All About Me" books and had time for a quick recess before Spanish. Sra. Colmenero had the class study colors and shapes. When we got back to our room, we started a "Pumpkin Guy or Pumpkin Girl" project that we will finish on Friday. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.

Don't forget to finish and check over homework packets for tomorrow! Include "Homework for Parents" surveys" and any book orders or field trip permission slips. Thanks!
