Field Trip to Siegel's Cottonwood Farm

We had a great Thursday in Room 203. It was the day of our rescheduled field trip!  We began the day with our morning activities and worked in our fire safety books before reading "The Runaway Pumpkin" and getting ready for our trip. We gathered lunches, went over rules, met our teams and chaperones, and made our way to the bus.

It was  long drive to Siegel's Cottonwood Farms, but the class was excited to be on a bus and about the trip. When we arrived, we checked in and immediately went on a long hayride around the farm. It was pretty cool!  Then we made our way to the petting zoo where we got to feed seeds to the goats and pet a bunch of farm animals. We were getting hungry at this point, so next we had lunch and went and played on their playground. When we finished, we went to the "Spooky Spiral," a short indoor maze. Apparently the corn maze was quite muddy from yesterday's rain, so we skipped it. Next we went to "Mootown Station" to ride the train. Afterwards, we took a class picture on a big chair and got more playtime. We ended the tour with a visit to see Farmer Paul. He talked about his family and the farm and explained where food comes from and how pumpkins grow. Then we all got a pumpkin to take home. I think that we had a fantastic trip! Extra special thanks to Ascencion's mom, Yahkid's dad, and Zach's mom for being chaperones.

Be sure to finish and check over homework packets for tomorrow!
