Sharks!

We had another good day in Room 2. We started our Tuesday with Nutrition outside and our morning activities. Then we we read the story "Skippy Skunk." At language arts rotations, students worked on opposites words and sentences. My groups read Sam and Mat book #12 and had some subtraction practice. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we had Star of the Week. Miss Esther shared some of her favorite things. She had some cool old metal cars and a record player with records that she played for the class. For math, we worked on problem solving by using logical reasoning. We solved shape riddles by removing answers we knew were incorrect.

After lunch, we read two books on sharks. Then students made their own shark using crayon and watercolors.   We practiced our culmination songs, too. Next, we had our last trip to the library. Mrs. Singh read us "A Bad Case of Stripes." To end the day, we had Reading Buddies. We got a chance to play on the big yard with our friends from Room 19. Then we packed up and lined up for home.

Don't forget to wear class t-shirts and comfortable shoes tomorrow! Plus, be sure to bring a lunch with drink for the day.
