Kindergarten Culmination

We had a memorable day in Room 2.  We began our Friday with Nutrition outside and our morning activities. Then we read "The Rainbow Fish: Tattle Tale" together. At language arts rotations, students decorated a starfish. My groups read Sam and Mat book #13. The other groups had secret centers. We finished quickly, so we took an early recess so that we could see the beginning of the softball game between the teachers and the fifth grade. Mr. Ricker and Mr. A represented the kindergarten teachers well! Then we went to the auditorium for our dress rehearsal.

After lunch, we read "Big Al" and packed up our things. We also passed out prizes for twenty super star sticks and certificates for an all-green week. Then we had a popcorn party!  We munched on a cup of popcorn while watching "The Magic School Bus: Under Construction," which was about structures. Then it was time for the culmination! The class performed "The Kindergarten Medley," "Surfin' Safari," and "First Grade, First Grade" with Rooms 8 and 9. I think that we did a wonderful job! Then each class presented diplomas to students. When were done, we returned to Room 2 and had light refreshments, took pictures, and enjoyed each other's company. What a great day!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Remember that next week will be all 12:35 P.M. Minimum Day dismissals. Also, we will have our class party on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M.  Lastly, bring a backpack AND a large bag to take home items on Wednesday.
