Our Last P.E. and Reading Buddies

We had a great day in Room 2.  We began our Wednesday with Nutrition outside and our morning activities. We also read "The Rainbow Fish: Finders Keepers." At language arts rotations, students worked on writing. They wrote sentences to match the pictures we sequenced from "The Rainbow Fish" yesterday. My groups worked on Father's Day presents. The other groups had secret centers. We stopped halfway through rotations to go to the auditorium to practice for Friday's culmination with Ms. Genut and Mrs. Navarrette. Our class did a wonderful job! I'm looking forward to our performance!  After recess, we finished up our rotations.

After lunch, we recited "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and had art. We finished up our octopus from yesterday by cutting it out and gluing on "Cheerio" suction cups to the eight arms. For Star of the Week, we introduced Mr. A. He shared his poster, took questions, and read his favorite book, "The Little House." Next, we made cards or pictures for our Reading Buddies. We went to the big yard for our last P.E. with Coach Angel. He had the class play soccer. It looked fun!  When we got back to Room 2, we had our last Reading Buddies with Room 19. You can tell that we are getting close to the end of the year by the number of "last" activities we are having! Anyway, the class shared their cards, read their Animal Reports, and enjoyed the company of their fourth or fifth grade buddy. I think that the class benefited a lot from this experience! Then we packed up and lined up for home!
