More With R Blends and Bugs

We had a productive Tuesday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read "The Bugs Go Marching" and "What is and Insect?" before brainstorming more "Br, Cr, and Fr" words. At language arts rotations, students worked on "br" and"cr" words and sentences. My groups took the Unit 8 Reading Assessment. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we practiced sight words, recited "Rock-A-Bye Baby," and had math. We reviewed shapes and focused on circles today. We drew and identified circles in the room.

After lunch, we had Music. Ms. Phiri had an opening for us to visit today because she knew we had a field trip on Friday. We sang some of the songs from last week. We also used egg shakers to sing "Shake and Pass It."  When we got back to Room 2, we read "Bug Safari" and "Ladybugs." Then we started a scribble art project where we finger painted several ladybug shapes. We will finish them tomorrow. For Star of the Week, Amelia shared some cute toys. She had a soft cow named Moo Moo, an American Girl doll named Isabelle, and an unnamed and very unique doll she got from a friend.  We thought we were going to end the day with Reading Buddies, but they had testing this afternoon.  So we went out for some P.E. on the big yard instead. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.

Don't forget you library books for tomorrow!
