The Letter M

Today was the start of Parent/Teacher Conference Week. We will have 12:35 Minimum Day dismissal times all week. Our Monday began by collecting Friday Folders and having Nutrition. After morning activities, we read "My 'M' Book" and brainstormed "M" words. At language arts rotations, students worked on "M" handwriting and used crayons, glue, and marshmallows to make a "Marshmallows on 'M's on a Mitten" tactile page. My groups read "A Map" and wrote about leaves in our journals. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we learned our new poem, "Little Miss Muffet," did some rhyming, and had math. We worked on counting by tens to 100.

After lunch, we discussed the first Americans, Native Americans. Then we colored, cut, and pasted a small tipi. To end the day, we had Star of the Week. Dashiell shared his amazing poster, described all of the pictures on it, and took questions and comments from the class. Then we passed out homework and lined up for home!

Be sure to look over homework for the week. Remember that we do NOT have school on Tuesday in honor of Veterans' Day. Also, note the instructions and cut out shape for At Home Project #2: The Ethnicity Doll, in your child's homework. Projects are due Tuesday, December 9th. See me if you have questions or need to see a sample. Let's have a great week!

Oops! I forgot to take pictures today! I will update this post on Wednesday.
