More With M and Native Americans

We had another short day because of our minimum schedule today in Room 2. Our Wednesday began with Nutrition and our regular morning activities. We read "Monkey's Miserable Monday" and came up with more "M" words. At language arts rotations, students worked on "M" phonics and sentences. My groups read "A Map" and wrote in our journals about leaves. The other groups had their last secret center of this rotation. After recess, we recited "Little Miss Muffet," did some rhyming, and had math. We looked for patterns in the hundred chart. We identified patterns of 1, 2, 5, and 10.

After lunch, we talked more about Native Americans. We learned that Native Americans were farmers. They grew corn, beans, and squash. Then we made corn husk art, gluing in actual corn kernals!  To end the day, we had Star of the Week. Dashiell started by reading his favorite book, "Meanwhile..." He did an amazing job!  Then he shared his "fly"glasses, his chess set, and his violin. Then we reviewed homework and packed up for home!
