Problem Solving

Thursday was our third day of Parent/Teacher Conferences. All seems to be going well!  We began our day with Nutrition and our morning activities. We read "I Love Trains" and "M is for Moose." At language arts rotations, students worked on "M" phonics and sentences. My groups wrote a letter to Dashiell, our Star of the Week. The other groups had their last secret center of the rotation. After recess, we recited "Little Miss Muffet," sounded out words, looked at initial word sounds, and had math. Today we worked on problem solving. We worked with a partner to look for a pattern in a group of numbers. Then we tried to figure out the missing numbers. I like how our students are really improving in talking out and solving these kinds of problems. Let's keep it up!

After lunch, we reviewed our sight words and had Star of the Week. Dashiell showed us several nice family pictures. To end the day, we played some "Mr. Ricker Says" and packed up for home!

Don't forget to finish up and check over those homework packets for tomorrow!
