More With N

We had an easy Tuesday in Room 2. We began our day with Nutrition and morning activities. We read "The Nicest Newt" and came up with words that start with the "N" sound. At language arts rotations, students worked on "N" phonics and sentences. My groups took the Topic 6 test and made a thankful Thanksgiving turkey. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we went to the Tech Lab. Mr. Scott had us try something new. We used Wixie.com to write numbers and use stamps to match. We did pretty well!  When we got back to the room, we recited "Little Nut Tree," practiced sight words, and identified word sounds.

After lunch, we looked at Dashiell's book on Native Americans and reviewed what we know. We also shared Lila's PTA Reflections project. Remember that anyone else interested should turn it in by Thursday. Next we celebrated Alexander's fifth birthday!  His mom brought in yummy cupcakes and drinks for the class to enjoy. When we got back in the Room 2, we had Star of the Week. We reviewed what we learned about Lila before sharing her toys. Lila brought in a flute/recorder, a fancy comb/mirror, an Elsa and Anna Frozen toy, and a Dr. Seuss All About Me book. They were great! To end the day, we had Reading Buddies. We looked at books with our friends from Room 19. Then we put up chairs, packed up, reviewed homework, read Jayden's superhero book, and let Alexander pass out stickers as we lined up for home. See you tomorrow!
