The Four Seasons and Yetunde's Birthday

We had another fun day today in Room 2. We started with our morning business. Then Penelope read the book "Elsa's Icy Magic" to the class. She did an amazing job!  Then we read her favorite book "Here Comes Trouble." At language arts rotations, students wrote Penelope a letter because she's our Star of the Week. My groups read "It Looked Like Spilt Milk" and made our own cloud shape before reading Sam and Mat books with a partner. The other groups had secret centers. After snack and recess, we recited "Wee Willie Winkie" and had math. We used manipulatives with a partner and found objects that were the same and then found objects that were different. To wrap up math, we colored in butterflies that were the same and different.

After lunch, we read "Here Comes Spring," sang "Apples and Bananas" to review vowel sounds, and did "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" together. Then we had language mixing with Mr. Duffy's class. My gtoup talked about the four seasons. Then we tried to write a sentence about spring, summer, fall, and winter. For Star of the Week, Penelope shared some nice pictures. We went out to the kindergarten yard for P.E. after that. To end the day, we celebrated Yetunde's birthday. Her mom brought juice and an ice cream cake for the class to enjoy. When we finished, Yetunde passed out goody bags as we lined up for home!

Don't forget to finish up homework packets. Also, please your child wear their class t-shirt for tomorrow's Walk-a-Thon.
