Short E and Broken Lines

Another busy day in room 2!  We started with our language arts rotations, focusing on our letter of the week "E". Independent groups worked on identifying short e words, like ten and web, and pasting them onto a corresponding picture. My groups worked on "E" handwriting and reading "I Am Picking Apples" while other students finished their last secret center. After snack and recess, we worked on building and writing 8 and 9 in math.

Our afternoon started with Treasures skills. We went over our poem of the week, did some rhyming, and put sounds together to make words (oral blending). We switched to an art lesson because I forgot something for science (we'll do that lesson tomorrow). We continued our unit on lines, creating pictures with broken lines. Students sketched a picture and glued on construction paper squares in broken line form to make a picture. Some came out really well!  Then we went to P.E. with Coach Angel and practiced throwing at a target. When we came back we had a few minutes, so we read with a friend. Not a bad day!
