Morning Assembly

Our day started with an assembly today. We attended an anti-bullying presentation in the auditorium. The class did a nice job sitting, listening, and participating in the performance. (It didn't hurt that we had front row seats, by the way.) Afterwards, we read "My D Book" and started center rotations. We only had one before it was time for snack. After recess, we finished our work, which included a "Dots on Ds on a Duck" tactile page, D handwriting practice, and secret centers.

The afternoon went almost as quickly as the morning. We practiced our new poem, "Hey Diddle, Diddle" and had some circle time where we learned and shared about a friend in class. We moved onto math next, focusing on building and ordering numbers 0 to 5. We completed a worksheet and then used cubes and blocks to create numbers up to 5. (They kind of looked like steps.) We went onto the kindergarten yard and played with playground balls before ending the day looking at books with a partner.  We got our new homework packets and lined up when we were done. I think that we had a good day!

Don't forget that tomorrow is the Back to School Breakfast! I hope to see everyone there. I'll have some information for you and take any questions or concerns you may have about our class. And remember, the November Parent/Teacher conference sign up will be posted there, as well.
