Sheep and Butterflies

We had a productive Monday in Room 203. We spent our morning learning about sheep and writing about the farm. We read "Sheep in a Jeep" and "Sheep on a Ship" for fun and made a fuzzy sheep with cotton balls. We also had Reader's Workshop and focused on patterns and partner reading. It was quite rainy this morning, so we had indoor snack and recess. That was nice because we got a better chance to look at our newly emerging butterflies. One was out when we arrived, the other emerged from its chrysalis later. We ended the morning writing about the farm in our kindergarten journals.

After lunch, we had math. We continued our practiced of counting the Say Ten Way (10 1, 10 2, 10 3, etc.) and worked to build numbers and number bonds the Say Ten Way. After some workshop time, we cut out our now dry sheep and had Star of the Week. We introduced Wai Zin as our Star of the Week first. Then she shared her awesome poster and took questions from the class. We ended the day with Spanish and P.E. Then we packed up, went over homework for the week, and lined up for home.

Be sure to check homework folders. We don't have a packet this week, but we do have a yearbook survey to fill out. Parents can do all of the writing EXCEPT for the signature. Let's have a great week!
