Blends, Animals Reports, and Rehearsals...

We had a busy (and rainy) Monday in Room 203. The rain kept us in most of the day, but we still got a lot done. We started our morning with Reader's Workshop and some "R" blend practice. We read "The Trolls Take a Trip" and tried to identify the "tr," "dr," "gr," and "pr" sounds. We also shared some early Animal Research Reports. Wai Zin shared her tiger report and diorama, Amira shared her great ape report and diorama, Bennett shared his frilled neck lizard report and diorama, and Henry shared his otter report and diorama. They all did a great job!  Avery will shared his project next since we ran out of time. After snack and recess, we ended the morning by writing in our kindergarten journals. We wrote about our trip to the zoo last Friday.

After lunch, we went to the auditorium to rehearse the Three Piggy Opera. We still have a ways to go, so we will practice again tomorrow and Wednesday. When we got back, we needed a break, so we had some workshop before ending the day in Spanish and P.E. Then we packed up and lined up for home.

Remember that Animal Research Reports (and a diorama or poster) are due TOMORROW. The Three Piggy Opera will be on Wednesday night. Otherwise, there is no homework, although I included a note about donations for our Block Party next week. Check it out!  Let's have a great week!
